Your music

Use only audio you own or are permitted to use. Hookback processes files locally for private practice; it does not grant rights to copy, publish, perform, or redistribute recordings. You keep ownership of your files and practice data.

The service

Hookback provides approximate pitch-contour feedback for learning by ear. It is not a definitive transcription, grading, accessibility, medical, or professional assessment tool. Dense mixes, chords, background noise, and browser audio behavior can affect results.

Free and Studio tiers

The local loop, answer feedback, practice queue, and data export are free. Hookback Studio is a one-time $19 license adding practice packs and advanced progress review. Purchase is handled by Sociobot/Dodo, the merchant of record. Refunds are handled there; a refund revokes the license. Prices may change for future purchases without altering a license already bought.

Availability and acceptable use

You may use Hookback for lawful personal practice. Do not attempt to disrupt the service, bypass a paid feature, probe the billing system, or use the app to infringe another person’s rights. Offline features depend on browser support and storage retained on your device.

Warranty and liability

Hookback is provided “as is” without warranties to the extent allowed by law. We are not liable for lost local data, lost practice time, or indirect damages. Export backups you care about. Nothing here limits rights that cannot legally be limited.
